As the title suggests I got pulled over by the Police.

My berth in Gosport is lovely for just jumping in the Kayak and heading off into Portsmouth Harbour. Saturday evening I had just finished my Chinese take away washed down with a beer and thought, the wind has dropped and it's lovely and warm, get the Kayak out. I leave it inflated on the bathing platform so a few minutes after this decision I am off!

Coming up for springs and with some tide running I stick close to the edge and under the MOD pier then round to Burrow Island just for a gentle potter. On the way back I notice the Police rib over by the HMS ships starts heading over in my direction and just as I pull back into Gosport Marina arrives next to me.

Hello, what are you up to and where are you going? Very polite and pleasant but quite surprised they had any interest in me. Still, after a couple of minutes they seemed satisfied and buggered off up towards the Gosport Ferry.

I must look dodgy.:)

If you do it again this Saturday evening drop down C pontoon at Royal Clarence, (C6) just behind Burrow Island. Planning on a lazy day fishing Saturday so we may well be there sorting out the catch in the evening. Or just have a beer. ;)

We were about last Saturday, but didn't see you getting busted. The Police are very active, and there aren't usually many dinghys or kayaks about. Going under the MOD pier possibly prompted their interest.

Thanks Adrian. :)

The MOD pier saves a lot of paddling.
