Moorings Officer at Marconi rang Mrs FC to offer us a mooring, but we have to hurry, as the laying party is in the next couple of weekends.

Offer accepted on the spot

Quick dash round to buy:

2 x 70lb Danforths, Maldon Marine
1 Large Mooring buoy, Dauntless
1 Pick up buoy Dauntless
3 Mooring Strops, Dunno yet
1 Length of 10mm chain as I am away a lot at the moment, Dauntless
43m of Chain and Shackles - Marconi Club stock

So an unexpected 900 quid hole in the budget, but I have a mooring, Yay!!!

A bit of a rush round, and my only opportunity is weekend of 28th/29th, I am still working in foreign climes next weekend.

Full Circle will get to its new home mid June I hope.

Result!!

what about setting up a little camera and a link to the outside world so that you can log on when in Turkey and watch the seals go by ?

A result indeed. Freedom!

Sure you will enjoy it.

Such a lovely spot, and you will be sailing in five minutes too. Expect big savings on diesel.

Welcome to the Blackwater Jim! Which row? Unfortunately B row is going down on the weekend of 14th / 15th so I may miss the fitting out do.

B row Simon, but mine is on the end, So I am doing it when they put down A row, as I will be working away on the 14th.

I now have an impressive pallet full of new chain and a bunch of shackles, but the large buoy I bought from Dauntless (£74 worth) is considered to be a tad on the shy side.
Anchor collection by the excellent Frank of Marconi, so nearly sorted now.

So, back off to buy a huger buoy, and the sages at Marconi were not shy of offering me specification tips and tricks by trolling round the boat yard and inspecting different buoys and pointing out their differing merit points.
Thanks to the guys, very helpful.

This buoy will need its own navigation lighting and a RACON transponder. Only kidding.

Large Danish Foam filled buoy now on the pallet. £195 from the excellent Dauntless chandlery.
Just need to assemble it all now, and get it welded.
Should be exciting.
