I need to get some fuel this weekend for my boat that doesn't go at the moment ! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif So it's a case of filling up a couple of can's. I've filled the boat up at campers / premier before but cant remember if the fuel pontoon is joined to the land, so i can walk down. Hoping it is as i will be going to the cheapest fuel station in gosport to get the fuel otherwise /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

Yes of course, it is at the end of the pontoons on a hammerhead. You will need to go through security to get there of course but I am sure they will let you through if you explain what you want. I am not however sure if they can give you marine prices in cans though. What would stop you buying it like that and putting it in your car? ( don't say it's dyed red.... when did anyone ever have the colour of their car fuel checked?) Why not phone the marina office and find out?

No problem buying red diesel in cans. I regularly get 200 ltrs but the marina office needs full ID which is either passed or made available for Customs. Acquaintance has 2 central heating tanks one holds red diesel for his boat which is delivered by local wholesaler at a fraction of marina costs. Customs do have vans which are used to carry out roadside dip tests especially in rural areas where they visit marts and markets and randomly test cars which appear to be owned by farmers (usually caked in mud with straw on the back seat). Anti dip strategy is to ensure car is washed before visit to town!

They dont dip now they swab the exhaust pipe will show there, your right about going to markets and country shows they walk round the car park

Last time I was in there [around November last year] the owner told me they'd stopped selling it because the pump had broken and it wasn't worth repairing it in view of the expected decline in sales when red diesel is no longer available.
