gori folding propellor

I have the same engine driving a Gori folding 2 blade prop. It drives better in ahead than astern but I think that's partly just that the boat (Folkboat with an offset propshaft) is much harder to move astern than ahead. I certainly have no complaints about it.

We fitted a Gori 3 blade last year and are very pleased with it. Sailing performance is much improved. It still looks brand new (we used Propshield) and reverse is fine with little noticeable kick.

Even the anodes look as new; the shaft anode is well eroded so I would fit one even if you have a hull anode.

Different concept. "traditional" geared design with the ability to set forward and reverse pitch to suit application. Shorter hub than competitors so the they can fit tight spaces. cheaper than other feathering designs and comparable with folding props.

The 2-blade folding propellor is a nice piece of kit, but be extremely careful when assembling it. I lost one of the blades as a result of a failing locking screw. As it was only two years old, I was not very happy.
I did change it however for a three blade Volvo. The new model from Volvo Penta fits much better than the old one did. (VP 2003 Saildrive) and has even more punch compared to the Gori
The problem with the locking screw is that you cannot visually inspect the setting of the screw in the pin that holds the blade.

The Gori was quite noisy above 1900 RPM (engine revs). But it did perform much better than the Volvo Penta 2-blader. The 16,5" * 12" saildrive model set me back something like 900 Euro almost three years ago

Just taken my 15 year old 3 bladed GORI off this morning after 8 years since last removal ( also for cutlass replacement) . Grease still inside the cone which tells you the standard of machining is excellent. No real wear and came apart with supplied tools with a light tap.
Its a long time ago but it gave more thrust, more speed and less revs than old UK folding prop it replaced.
As you can tell a very satisfied customer.
Anodes last over 3 years now I am in a marina.
Quality always costs but they are worth it.

What sort of noise do you get please? I have one that I find noisy but am getting knowhere with Gori. Is 16.5" also but above about 1800 revs very noisy. If you post me your number I will call you. Thanks
