Got home last night after a somewhat tiresome day at the coalface. Looking through the post, prior to recycling most of it, I found a letter from a certain Mr James Barke of Princess East Coast and Poole (aka boats.co.uk) enclosing free tickets for any day of SIBS.

This cheered me up considerably and reinforced my view that, if I want another boat in the near future, the first place I will be looking will be...:D

Thanks

I received 2 from Dean and Reddyhoff which was a nice gesture as a thank you for attending the MBY Sea trial event in Portland....

Nice when that happens. I never get anything free but did bid on SS VIP tickets with valet parking and hospitality at a charity auction/party. Our bid was the only bid we are well happy. Not sure SS will be when they have to park my builders van :D

Few forumites there on Friday afternoon if you feel like exercising the race car down the A34...? :D

Got to finish a project, so no chance of being there before 6.30 but if anyone was staying on for a cheeky beer and was happy to tip me off on the venue...

PS That car is not exactly road legal now and anyway it's in bits at the mo...:D

Foc from mdl x1
SS very generous x 4 (we did buy our boat from them lol)
What time does the show close on Friday? Were bringing the boat from Mercury to shamrock this afternoon so might pop in for a few hours unless it shuts down early

Yup les Barkes are good.

The ticket thing can ham-fistedly generate badwill too. A sunseeker salesman, whom I've met and exchanged emails with and who has shown me around the 86 inviting me to buy one, sent an email inviting me to SIBS but saying the invitation doesn't give me a free entry ticket. How much love do they think they create by writing to tell someone they do NOT have a free ticket? It would have been better to say nothing!

We went to look around a vessel recently just out of curiosity and interest and we made that clear. Ok, it was a new one, but we were only there for about 20 mins. At the end of our viewing, the chap said that the boat was going to SIBs and to pop in and have another look if we were going. I said we were probably going, with which he produced two SIBS tickets and said he would be pleased if we would be his guests for a lunch on the stand! Before this we had never met before.
