We have had a good weekend's work on Sirenia.

Stack Pack bag made up and trial fitted - just need to get some zips now.

Mast lowered and stored on shed roof.

Boat moved under car port using the boss's Ford Ranger.
Also worked out that the Ranger will be man enough to tow Sirenia to Woodbridge:)

Slippery areas of deck cleaned off and painted with International Perfection with antislip powder added.
I was sceptical about the powder as it seems very fine but now It is on the grains are visible and I can see that it should work.

I have also managed to sell my old Range Rover complete with Blown engine on Ebay for a reasonable sum.
 
Great weekend

Brightlingsea from Ipswich on Saturday and back today - good sailing; good curry; some beers - bit cold though!

Yes the Ranger was returned on Saturday evening before they went out for their evening meal.

Launching planed for w/e 27th / 28th at Woodbridge.
 
Well, good - and bad.

The Bad.
Solar Panel installation not finished
Wind generator wiring not completed.
Engine alignment needs adjusting
Kiwiprop has broken
Netbook arm not ready yet.


The Good
Rewelded exhaust elbow went straight in.
Injectors came out without too much trouble
Engine mounts NOT knackered (£492 saved)
Oils changed and new antifreeze done
2 Bilge pump skin fittings look good.
Watertank/Bilge monitor panel just needs re-covering and its done.
Alarm installation going well
Netbook ancillaries panel installed
AIS, Navtex & NMEA multiplexer installed
Instruments removed from helm and installed in Bridgedeck pod (but not installed completely yet.
Sliding bin mechanism installed and it works.
Kiwiprop will be rebuilt at no charge (Hurrah Vecta Marine)
Cabin sole panels all refurbished to underside(waiting to go off for varnish spraying)

Keep going, next weekend will see the headlinings go back up if I can get a decent routing for the instruments to the bridgedeck.
Possibly first fit of new saloon table (which looks really nice in bits)
Still on for 1st week of May......

Pleased Sirenia is going well Clive, soon be there.

The Good
Finished the bilge pump installation. :p
Solar powered computer fan is now keeping the boat much drier inside. :o
Just the engine service to go, and I want to be fairly sure that there are no more frosts before I flush the anti freeze from the raw water side of the cooling. :confused:

The Bad
Car engine overheats if I drive over 80kmh :mad:

The Ugly
Bright yellow yacht being sold in the marina, even the spars are painted to match! :eek:
 
The Good:
2nd coat of antifouling
Old winches removed ready for new self tailers (how much :eek: don't tell SWMBO!)
Flexible water tank repositioned to give some locker space back
Chart plotter and VHF now talking happily :)
Day at home on Sat so massive brownie point gain :D

The Bad:
mmmm can't think of any at moment other than usual post boat maintenance aches and pains!

The Hopeful!
New sails should be here by next weekend
Main hatch 'garage' in construction and may even be fiiited for next weekend too!

Its not the blade thats broken, its a stress fracture in the Nylon hub, probably caused by tapping the machine screw holes a little deep that hold the body together on the knurled stainless inner hub.

The net effect was that the spring return didn't function properly, and Vecta Marine (Alan Pollard) have yet again shown their outstanding customer service by offering to bebuild it free of charge on a priority basis.

I am satisfied that the defect will not reoccur.
