Good Value Boat heaters

I've had my one running all afternoon in my workshop without a hiccup, using kerosene, which is what I will use on the boat too. From a cold 5oC it had the workshop up to 16oC in about 30minutes even with the door wide open where the exhaust was blowing out.

I note the tank has a place to position a draw off (fitting is supplied), but I intend to mount the filter to the cap as this eliminates any possibility of a leak.

I used the fitting on the tank, drilled a 7mm hole and threaded some lockwire up through the filler and slid the fitting down the wire, with both O rings in place and the nut nipped it was fine.

I feel guilty your's didn't arrive. Apart from a damp box and no pin code mine is just fine.

I have built the mounting for it today and once the various sellers return from their Christmas hols all the bits for the ducting, hull fitting, etc are ready to order.

I am thinking of buying a second for spare parts provision - I can't believe these are so cheap !

Is yours a 2 or 5kW version Trev?

A really interesting thread, I’ve been idly thinking about fitting a second heater to our boat for the front cabins, this looks ideal. And at those prices there’s little to lose, especially being able to get the UK made silencer. Now I need to decide whether to install a small fuel tank just to run this heater, plumbing into the main fuel tanks will be a right faff.

Outboard fuel tank are safe to use. Just check what connection to the heater is required by insurer?

Got an Eber d2 - does anyone know if I can use existing mount/pump/exhaust etc if swapped over for the 5kw version?
The common exhaust sizes are 22 and 24mm. The 5kW has a 22mm exhaust outlet. The mount looks identical. I would use the pump they supply, although the Beer pump may be just fine. The main air inlet and outlet are 75mm, and you must provide a full air flow capability, so if your D2 has 60mm ducting you may need to increase at least one outlet to 75 - 80mm with at least one non closeable outlet.
