Good-to-have-bits and just-in-case-things

Dylan,

I couldn't agree more.

Elizabeth I'm sorry to read about Max, awful for both of you, I suspect even worse for you than him; I must say I don't think I've ever heard of such a courageous, positive attitude as yours - my hat is off !

I look forward to following your blog; have fun, you certainly deserve it.

Andy

Good luck and fair winds.

Tell us the name of your HR 31, so we can look out for you. Remember also that you will be a member or a wonderful liveaboard yachting community who will be happy to offer help - and receive help from you when you can give it. Its how it works, a weird mix of independence and interdependence that enables us to overcome the challenges of keeping the show on the road when we all have limited resources and crews.

So when something inanimate is stubbornly refusing to co-operate and has you on the edge of tears, don't hesitate, don't be too proud to ask for help, because we have all been in that situation and been grateful for assistance willingly given.

A head torch with plenty batteries. Indespensible when you need both hands to do something in a dark corner.

Being of somewhat - er - "Senior years", I've also got a magnifying glass type thing to hang round my neck. Helps me with fiddly little things!

You go for it girl!

I'm sure that with Max's experience and background, everything that is needed, can be found somewhere on board..... its just a case of finding it in the nooks and crannies.

I'm sure you'll feel a presence while you sail. :)
