Good season?

Life changing experiance!

Got Sophie onto new club mooring on Blackwater and finally learning to sail her. Every trip out a brand new experience and the learning curve is getting steeper! Did first ever cruise in company, first ever sail off mooring, first involuntary jibe, first run aground, first brew up under sail, first everything and it is b****y fantastic!!! Only regret is that it took 52 years to discover all this! Starting day skipper eve classes next week so something new to look forward to and a great forum to fiddle with rather than watching rubbish on telly.

A good season: three days on my own over easter around Treguier and lezardruier glassy calm and motored every mile but did some really interesting rock hopping. Some great evening sails. The big summer trip to Ireland with a friend was a washout and only got as far as Falmouth and then went to France instead: last two weeks of july, but we had some great sails the best finishing a passage with 30-35 knts over the deck on the nose No3 genoa and double reefed main but fairly flat sea and going like a train. Then a couple of days with the family on board and just anchored in St Brelades bay for the day (daughters 4 and 1) and had my first sail with just me and 4 yr old daughter in 15-17 knts of breeze, totally memorable and still some time for some more.

This year was definitely not the best. CC09 was OK, but much work on the house took out most of the time while the weather was good, then the summer trip in August was, well, awful. A long w/e a couple of weeks ago was a real bonus, but overall, I reckon this has been my worst year in the last dozen.
