+1 for Festool, a 6" pad used velcro backed disks, easy to change and these units will withstand heavy use over a prolonged period.

Grits range from 40 (these are the ones that remove lots of material, be very careful) to over 2000 (will shine up corian worktops)

Expensive units but worth it

Dunno wot got into Bosch, but my 180 and my Delta sander both packed up within a year. They were replaced under guarantee but the 180 did it again. Bosch charged me £45.00 to repair it. Next time it goes in the bucket and I'm gonna replace it with the Fein.
