Good Sales Video. Princess 35.

OG, the video is spoiled by the sound, which has been recorded by a mike on the camera. Hence the reverberating bass. I am not often tempted by motorboats but that one is worth a second look.

A collar mike is the way to go.

BTW, at the beginning, I assume that the fenders are out to starboard to balance the boat ? I believe a lot of mobos do this... :)

Not bad for a middle aged MAB. Personally I have always preferred the sleeker 330 from the princess stable. The 35 just looks a bit “dumpy” in comparison.

Quite an old video so suspect boat is long gone. Those big 6 Litre engines are very rare in the P35.
Might even be the MB&Y test boat ?.
Nice big old lumps and likely to last longer than the weedy 3.6 litre 41Bs.
Mind you Volvo went on to squeeze 235 hp out of that block, mind you, plastic pulleys and rubbish solinoids did its reputation no good.
Do agree the 330 is a much more balanced and pretty looking boat, quicker as well.Did look at couple, but the, widdy letterbox berths put us off.

Some will not know about HLB on here
He had the same vessel
Tamd41's in it
He nicknamed Her 'Mucky Farter'!
I crawled all over the boat doing repairs for Hadyn and we became good friends
Even though He was a 'one off'!
That Hull was/ is great
Hadyn went through some 'stuff' in His
I too was with Him when it was a bit choppy
The Hull is a Bernard Olienski design and fair play cuts through the water well
Vis from the 'inside' Helm is quite restricted though, especialy at displacement speeds
Like Sara, I question the dangling fenders!
The Sales guy has obviously kissed the Blarney Stone too!
Some of his 'Spiel' is rollocks
Neverther the less
A decent sales video as they go oldgit as you say
For Me
Brought back lots of memories of a lost Forumite
Thanks for That!

What we have here is 3 venerable old gents on a park bench ruminating and rheuminating on a bygone era. :D If there was just two I'd have yelled Statler and Waldorf ;)

285hp wasn't it? KAD 300?

Awesome isn't it. Light, efficient and time proven :encouragement:

.........and most VP parts still available on early engines on a 24 hour basis if desperate..
285 HP.
Shame about plastic pulleys and solinoids clunking away to early failure and lurching progress as the supercharger cuts in and out plus the sheer racket filling the saloon and aft deck.

Yes it is a good sales video and it is something that brokers on this side of the pond dont do enough because it is a great sales tool. Brokers in the USA are usually very good at this and often produce very professional sales videos

PS Seeing this P35 reminds me of Haydn (hlb) RIP. I hope he is being just as much the irascible git wherever he is now as he was on this forum:)

Been on a couple of boats with KAD 44/300 engines and never noticed any lurching at all. Didn't notice they were particularly noisy either, bit of supercharger whine that isn't particularly loud and isn't there at all at low speeds or cruising speeds.

What sort of boat were you on that was lurching as the supercharger cut in and making a 'sheer racket'?

Sounds like a bit of a nail.

You have to remember that Oldgit is about as biased as it is possible to be. If it isn't a manky old 80s flybridge with agricultural engines running through Stone Age shafts, it isn't a proper boat ;)

Immaculate Fairline Brava. 500 hours on the clock.
Was featured in MB & Y a few years back.
Previous owner kept in the Med and was part of his gradual rise up the the Fairline food chain from bottom to top.
Now resides on the upper Thames and at displacement speeds cannot make its mind up wether it wants help from the supercharger or not.In out in out, clunk clunk lurch lurch.
Unpleasant racket in cockpit all the time and not much better in the saloon either.
Solinoids and pullies all had to be replaced over the years and tappet adjustment was not cheap either.
Interior is really nice.
Noise much better when on the plane, at least you can take refuge on the Flybridge. :)
Bit daft developing an engine that will give you loads of top end but a bit so wearisome further down the rev range. ?
Think it was available with Cummins if you wanted smooth seamless reliable power.

Not much better when under way on the plane but at least you can take refuge on the Flybridge. :)

Sounds like it's either poorly maintained, or the owner doesn't know what 4.3 knots really is. Supercharger should not kick in until well above non tidal river speed limit.

The Brava was an early 90's model. I doubt it would have Kad300's in it unless re-engined. Maybe Kad42's, but they really are just like your old tractor engines bar the supercharger.
