I have just picked up Rigging by Fabbroni off my shelf and found, again, that it is unreadable. Any alternatives out there?

Well, I've been giving Brion Toss more than a glance and I'm not so impressed: 2.5 out of 5. Perhaps 5 out of 5 if you have a beard, smoke a pipe and smell of Stockholm tar.

There's nothing on furling gear and how to replace the bearings or stay. There's nothing on sta-lok type fittings. Etc. etc..

It's a book for a bygone age. Nice to have on the bookshelf but really not much use for today's rigging.

I would, incidentally, give Fabbroni 1 out of 5.

Humm, I have Toss's book and found it very good. Yes, a bit dated , but many have boats of the same vintage. Maybe more for the 'classic' crew.
