Needing 3 new 'Domestics' for my Tub I went to my local battery/tyre shop and gave him the dimensions etc. of the old ones.
Naturally they weren't the sort of thing he normally stocks so he ordered them up for me. So! I now have 3 X 110 amphour
deep discharge no maintenance (sealed for life batteries) at a cost of £40 quid each. Is this a good price? I feel it is.

Well tell me before you come mate. I will need dimensions too. Ht., width, length etc. Yours may be even cheaper, mine remember are no maintenance ones, sealed for life.

Sounds about right.

If you want them "off the shelf" like NOW! try your local camping and caravan place, most have a decend selection on their shelves at about £23 for 80A/h and £42 for 110A/h.

Hmmmm! Well Clive when I needed exactly the same as you (for my previous boat as you know an Ocean 37) I got them from the same source at £33 each. This was about 8 years ago but even allowing for inflation that's still a sight cheaper than £125 each.

paid £60 cash for 850 amp battery direct from Pavilion batteries Brighton.

bloody hell.....must be heavy enough to sink the boat............./forums/images/icons/shocked.gif
You either got an amazing product extremely cheap or (I suspect) you paid over the odds for a pretty mundane kitchen sink sort of powerpack......................

I was told some time ago that the best priced domestic battery is 100A/H 12V.
This apparently is the biggest market and therefore the cheapest in terms of £'s per A/H
