Going to new York and thought prices for clothing might be better. Any good shops in Manhattan for wet weather gear etc?
Good place to buy sailing gear in new york?

I haven't been for a couple of years now but will check up for you tomorrow with some New York colleagues. If you know anyone there your best bet is to order mail order and get them sent to them in advance - much cheaper. The ones in Manhattan were silly prices.
If you head over the river to New Jersey you'll find a couple of big malls and slightly better prices - don't forget they price before tax over there. It's 7% in NJ and about 9% in Manhattan.

There is a West Marine in the Garment district of Manhattan. I think it is on or near 37th and 5th st.

Is very different in the US most of which is a lot lighter, cheaper yes but lighter and not as warm etc. mostly coastal typer jackets. The top end stuff is still available for top end prices as its UK stuff.
If you want mid layer etc head to North Face, still not cheap but cheaper than here and good warm mid layer kit (and ski kit)
West Marine do some decent own label stuff but its not HL or Musto
