Good old windows 10 !!

Well I like it. But then I also liked Win8.1, 8, Vista, XP, Millenium, 2000, 98, 95, 3.1..... Guess some people are just easier to please than others.

Relief... I realised you were trolling the second you said you liked Win ME.

Having upgraded and reinstalled about 10 times, Windows 10 is a mess. Less so than 8, but more so than 7. User configuration needs to be done in at least three places. It is still three different UI's glued together. It crashes frequently on at least 4 of 6 computers here. When I spoke to MS about a rather common problem, it seems, I was simply cut off. Tried again, best advice I got was to reinstall windows 7, wait for it to be upgraded to 10 again, and then see if it works. Not happy.

+1

Having spoken to various MS insiders, it seems they are trapped in the marketing cycle rather than the engineering cycle. MS Marketing demands bright new shiny things on a regular basis to dangle in front of gullible consumers. MS Engineering hates all the deckchair rearranging, because they take pride in products that are reliable and work. But they are hidden below-decks. Win8 was pure-bling. Win10 is a little less bling, but still best avoided unless you have a generous budget for new hardware and lots of time to waste.

After the win 10 up grade, my puta shut down, and now will not switch on!

Had the same problem but got it booted up again by switching off and on at the main power. It also would not boot up if it went into sleep mode. Having got it fired up, I decided to go back to win 7 but at the last moment I had the chance of fault finding and worked through this (but you need to have some form of Microsoft account even if it is with your own email address) Anyway having got my account sorted I went on line to a chat help desk and the engineer worked througha few things and took over control of my computer and eventually said, it should be ok and to test it.

It worked fine and it wakes up having gone into sleep mode and boots up if I have shut it down.

I updated my desktop and laptop, then spent some time shutting down the various Microsoft NSA or CIA spy settings.
Everything worked ok for about 7 days then started slowing down to a point where loading Firefox took 2 minutes!

Having uninstalled and reverted to Win 7 everything is more or less back to normal.

Next time I shall probably try Linux
