So what's going on here then. Marina fees frozen or down, licence increases not as high as expected, lock cottages saved and the little darlings that vandalised Brendan's boat have been caught and suitably punished. This feels really good. How about an embargo on negative posts for a few more days? Let's start by being nice to Angelaq for a change. I think it's great that she is so active on this forum. Ok, who wants to go next?

Fully agree, news on marina prices for 2009 is more than most of us hoped for, Lock Keepers houses ditto, the River conditions site from the EA is first class. Heres to a great season next year, and Seasons Greetings to all forumites

You are right - things do feel positive. And I agree about how welcome Angelaq is on this forum.

And a bit more positive... just had the webasto serviced and it is currently being fitted by a mate (I am no good at these things). Winter boating beckons.

Glad to see common sense

prevailing at last.

You're a lucky lot downstream, you've got somewhere to go; I'm locked in in both directions until late March. Bit of a pity (not PITA) as I've got a super winter mooring for once.

Ah, well no GAIN without PAIN; I should be positive in the thought that more locks will be electricified with no heavies upstream 'till Iffley, where there's always Austin (formerly Ferd) to cheer me up!

Positive note - at least I can spend the time in fettling the inside of the boat.
