Fed up with flushing out the salt from my bilges with lovely fresh water from my tanks, I spent the windy afternoon looking for the leak which appeared during the big freeze last month.

It finally turned out that the Cleghorn Waring overpressure pop off valve on the calorifier had frozen and stuck in the out position, but wasn't able to check that.

After several twiddles round, it made a little thunk noise and dropped back into its seat.
Leak solved.

I hate that valve, it has wasted so much of my time in the last 5 years.

Checked the jobs to do list after todays completions and additions. Its up to 115 items AGAIN. However, we remain confident that at least 80 of those will be done before launch just before 2nd April.

Sirenia's fancy alarm system stopped responding to text messages about a week ago.
This caused me some concern but that was only until I called the Marina Office and they looked out of the window and assured me the she was still afloat.

A trip to Walton early in the week proved that there was no physical issue with the alarm and it was correctly powered up.

A frustrating phone call to t-mobile finally extracted the info that there was a cell fault in the area and it would be corrected in a few days.
I have been trying to get a response from the system with no luck.
Today I brought a Tesco pay as you go sim and went to the boat again with an old mobile.
The alarm was still showing a fault so I stripped it apart to get the T-Mobile sim out ans tested that in the old mobile.
It worked!
Put it back in the alarm.
The alarm worked!!!
Put it all back together it still worked.

I am confused but happy that I don't need to get a new alarm system.

Anyone want a new Tesco PAYG sim?

My old Nokia 3310 sometimes needs the SIM taken out and reboot. Must be a Bill Gates thing.

We now have webcams on the pontoons at Bradwell so we can see the boat when it is afloat :p

I think that I add my own wireless camera on board to the system but I haven't.

Free wifi at the Fitting Up supper
