"Used the SW Sunk crossing today. No change from last year. Same waypoints. No problem."

Sounds like good. Subject to completing fitting out TG I hope to re-survey the whole swatch in mid May and then later to do the Spitway as well.

Good, good. We had had a lot of wind during the winter so there was always concern. I am sure that back in the '80s the same position endured for at least 10 years; let us hope it will endure again.
 
Anyone got the waypoints please as i normally cross by the Barrow No 2 at low water. I kind of like to use the tide out & then back down the Black Deep rather than sail across the tide. But it is probably about 4 miles longer (less a bit of a push from the tide)
But I might go that way this year
However, my chart plotter does not give me confidence, neither does my chart ( both 3 years old ) & i can do the long way just by looking at the wind farms

So coming from the Swin. Which is the quickest route to the other side of Fisherman's Gat if one crosses by the barrow at low water? Do not forget going the N route I would be cutting the corners tight at the Gat & going diagonally en route south & steering 136 degrees from Barrow No 2 not quite as the shown route.
Is the southern route over the Sunk really that much quicker?
 
You can of course cut corners - with your experience, it is easy and safe. I had to provide a measure of security for anyone using routes of the first time.

The quick answer is (and I have had a VERY quick comparison) @ 5 kts going north via Foulger's and the Little Sunk (aka Barrow No 2) is 31 minutes longer than via Fisherman's and the SW Sunk and via Fisherman's and Little Sunk is a further 27 minutes i.e. just under an hour longer via the Little Sunk rather than the SW Sunk. Different speeds and Neaps will be different. And of course, with prudence, the corner round Fisherman's and the Long Sand can be cut.

Going south: Little Sunk and Foulgers is 39 minutes longer than Fisherman's and SW Sunk, via Little Sunk and Fisherman's is a further 28 minutes ie. a total of 67 minutes longer via the Little Sunk than the SW Sunk.

Just to add to the reports on Roger’s highly valuable soundings - I passed through the SW Sunk Gat (my crew now refer to it as Roger’s Gat, though of course he has a few more to his credit!). This was on Saturday 28th July 2018 at about 1754 - 1806 BST - WPs 6c, 6b, 6a in that order, on passage from Burnham to Vlissingen. I think that was about 2 hrs before local LW, but have done no detailed calculations. The least depth I encountered was about 4.8 m on the approach to 6c. I was recording a set of Seatalk readings to submit to Teamsurv if those might in due course be of any interest to you.

That is a sight more civilised than many years ago when there was a short-lived gat through the Sunk which I publicised in MLSC, when it become known as 'John's back passage'.
