I went to ASAP in Beccles today to try to match my old water fillers, and as I was walking out saw that they had GE Water Filters on show, so turned round and immediately quizzed them. They've stocked them for a week, and it's not surprising as the new importer is part of the same group as ASAP, so there you go. For your spare filters go to ASAP!

No connection, only a happy customer

Pure water are selling them again I noticed. I just purchased another spare at £101 inc VAT and Shipping in UK. Outdoorbits.com is another UK agent selling them now. Seems there is quite a few now selling them so shop around. Better than last year.

I've swapped out my old Nature Pure (white canister with the nylon locking thing) for a QC2, which is for 2000 gallons of water, or for us 30 fill-ups, or about 6 years... £97 for that isn't too horrendous.

Worth getting on the ASAP mailing list, as they emailed the water filter thing this week. Their list of useful yachts bits is pretty good. Add to that I usually pass by Beccles about once a week!

Pleased ASAP are stocking but £129 compared to £97 at purewateronline.co.uk (although currently out of stock) seems toppy!

I am about to purchase the dockside prefilter - £223 at ASAP versus £185 at purewater...........

Good luck, the prices shown on purewater are ex VAT...

I felt a bit silly, assuming that you had checked carefully before saying that. Then I was a bit cross with Purewater for displaying net prices on a retail website without making that clear.

But taking it through to checkout I discovered that you had not checked carefully and that you are wrong! Postage for the dockside filter is £10+ VAT. Total price £197 inc VAT and postage. Not sure what ASAP charges for postage.

The price from ASAP is £198.91 inc vat and postage (free for the value). I emailed Pure Water Online after not finding them at Southampton Boat Show, and there was zero response. I finished up emailing GE in the US, and they told me they'd terminated Pure Water. I think you'll find when it comes to it you won't get anything from them

Apologies for a mild thread hijack.
I've been attempting to fit a General Ecology QC 2 for some time now (lord knows the number of 'bits' i've now got).

I'm having a hell of a time attempting to fit it 'in line' with my Beneteau plumbing (which appears to be 15mm pipe connected with push fit/John Guest connectors predominently).

Before I throw it and the spare canister in the bin - does anyone have any wisdom (and/or part numbers) as to how you've connected yours up to give me a clue?

I've tried all sorts of push fit connectors (including a 15mm into 6mm where I cut the hose on the QC2 to attempt to fit it) and a number of UNEF -> 1/2" stuff but fundamentally i end up with water everywhere. My latest attempt was to try and connect a push fit 'tee' in line and then a 15mm -> 6mm reducer to feed the QC2. Water everywhere again.

Thanks in advance for any experience you can help with.
