Good news for anyone heading for Fowey.

Must be an old one he didn’t spend half the video talking about a sponsor! Not sure I understand what’s wrong with french tin openers?

The new pontoon mentioned at the start of the thread is at Mixtow Pill. It appears to be primarily for permanent berth holders rather than visitors.

Mixtow does have some (walk ashore) capacity for visitors on the old pontoon, but it's worth noting that this is walk ashore to the Bodinnick side of the river rather than Fowey. It's a good spot - well sheltered with power and water on the pontoon. Spent several nights there at the beginning of August.

A brisk walk up the hill from the Penmarlam boatyard at Mixtow and across the field via the public footpath takes you to the road to the Bodinnick car ferry, so a short ride and you're in Fowey - all good exercise. Or you can call the water taxi.
