For the past few years it's been impossible to obtain some of the decals / badges fitted to pre 2012 boats. These are easily damaged, usually by over enthusiastic polishing and a walk round any marina will reveal many boats with badges that have been scraped away.

Fairline's excuse in the past for not stocking these is that the Minimum Order Quantity is too high to make ordering a new batch viable. Owners will be pleased to know that despite the MOQ Fairline have commissioned a fresh batch of the shield and FAIRLINE badges and and these will be replenished when they run out. As with all Fairline parts they can be ordered from Bates - see http://www.bateswharfparts.co.uk/shop/39035-fairline-logo-badge-pre-2012/.

Fairline are hoping to be able to supply the TARGA and other badges / shields in due course.

Am I correct that the spares items can only be purchased through dealers?

As Bates is now the only dealer it would handy if they had a few more things in stock, as it is most of the stuff shown on that site is "out of stock"

Spares can be ordered through any dealer but Bates are the lead dealer for the UK so that's who I would order through. The spares they can supply are not limited to those on the web site (thankfully) but I guess they were trying to commoditise some commonly purchased items and allow people to buy online. I'll ask Bates if the other items on the site really are unavailable (in a way they'd be better to hide them than have a whole load of parts listed as "Out of Stock").

Let me know what Richard B. says. I think it would be great to be able to order the Fairline specific merchandise from a website, ultimately I think Fairline and the dealer are losing out.

Will do. What merchandise are you interested in? My understanding is that some things are poorer sellers than you might think. Not everyone wants, ties, polos shirts, cufflinks etc.

You surprise me :D does anyone want a Fairline/Sunseeker tie? I wouldn't want a Colvic Watson one!!! I'm mean everyone wants a Princess tie for sure...

Cheap !

What's not clear from the picture is that the badge is built up (plastic I believe spray that's sprayed silver).

As anyone who has ever commissioned a small production run (we're only talking about a couple of hundred here) of such things will confirm, that price, once everyone has taken a little profit to make it worthwhile is not unreasonable. If that price is too rich for people then a flat vinyl decal would be a cheaper alternative.

I'm just glad that they're making the investment and effort to support owners of older boats.

I don't blame you! What would you like to see available online then?

The normal boaty bits, inside and out. Fenders, crockery, cutlery, glasses, fitted bedding that I can justify the cost of unlike Heirlooms. Lovely stuff of course, just fell off my chair when I got a quote.

I think there is a market for all the branded stuff of yester year, quite a few people I know would like some fairline glasses, knives and forks, a tastefull jacket, a key ring ect ect.
When I spoke to one of the reps on fairline stand this year I was told that they are bringing the branded stuff back as they are constantly asked for there branded stuff so watch this space.
Not sure I fancy spending £400 on the fairline kuba jackets they was wearing tho !

We put some of those decals on our Fairline Targa when they were available (circa 2008) and IIRC they wanted north of £300 for the pair then so the current asking price seems reasonable by comparison!

I've got one of those Quba Sails Fairline jackets (IIRC they're £300 not £400) and will be wearing it skiing. So if anyone is in Saalbach next March and sees a drunken bloke falling down the slopes wearing a white Fairline jacket and red ski pants say hello!

Incidentally, some of you may have noticed that Fairline have made a subtle change to their branding. The shield is now flat and the navy blue has become more of a royal blue. As a result, I believe they have some of the white Quba sails jackets (in odd sizes) left over that they may be willing to sell at a discount. So if you're very tall, very fat or very short give Sandra a call at Bates Parts and she might be able to help you out.

I was able to get old-style Fairline fenders through Marathon Leisure e.g. someone like Force 4 can place the order for you. Code for the large ones is 0457FAIR, they can do them in small quantities e.g 4 or 6 if needed. Made by the original manufacturer but had to go through the right channels etc.

Thanks, might need a fender sooner than I thought. Fired up the Eberspacher and didn't realize a fender was laying across the exhaust. One burnt fender cover and one melted fender. Bugger.....
