I was making up this list for a friend and thought it might be interesting to get definitive list from the Forumites. If you feel inclined ,let us know your favourite sites (in the same format) and I'll add them to the list and come back with a definitive list at the end of the thread. Thanks

Do all you people who spend ages looking at weather sites on the internet, actually get better sailing weather?

Yes, I just keep looking until I find a forecast that I like the look of. Sorted......... /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

NormanS The answer is a very definite YES.
I don't spend "ages" as you unfortunately put it but I pay a lot of attention the weather forecast and they have resulted in some of the best sails of my life.
For example:
(1) Roaring up the Sound of Mull on the front edge of a deep low, spending the night in Tobermory as the centre of the low passed through and then tearing back to Oban on the trailing side of the low.
(2)Crossing from Rome to Sardinia(180miles) at an average speed of 6.5 knots once we sure that the northerly gale was subsiding.
All with the aid of weather forecasts.
You should try it sometime! Weather is the vital element in sailing! IMHO

Don't get your knickers in a twist. I use forecasts too! when afloat, I don't have internet access, and have to rely on Navtex (when it works) or Coastguard (when they work).
I only asked if you get better weather.

Thanks for mentioning PassageWeather, but may I make a small correction:

PassageWeather DOES have rainfall prediction charts...

Our 7-day forecasts include: Wind speed and direction, surface pressure, wave height and direction, visibility, precipitation, cloud cover, sea surface temperature, and Gulf Stream strength and direction.

Thank you for the kind words and recommendation.
