It reminded me of her mother's last performance. I was in the audience of "Sunday Night at the London Paladium" show - my Dad worked for ATV who produced the show - she died shortly after. I remarked to wife how similar it was. Tom Steele was a rave from the grave too!

I went to the axshul show. The round the Horn bit bombed - they added the canned laughter. Only prince charles went, no other royal. The after-show party was memorable in that it served breakfast.

Met her abt 30 yrs ago,

good story going around then that she had been out with friends and had been persuaded by them to do a couple of numbers at a local night club. The audience who didnt know who it was thought that there were listening to a normal singer from the audience and were less than enchanted with the performance - she was booed off the stage!

Suspect that her parentage opened a number of doors for her early in her career that would always have remained shut on somebody with no influence.

Liked her in the film Liveley Lady.

What on earth possessed you to watch it the first place?

A Party Pollitical broadcast would have been more entertaining than watching that bunch of self congratulatory showbiz has beens.

My sister in law rang me and insisted I share the agony with her...I watched slack jawed.

Some people really should know (or be told) when to stop. LM, that is, not my sister in law!

I suppose I am a bit sad to admit that I enjoyed Tommy Steel - same old laugh. I expected to enjoy Horn - but didn't.
Who selects the acts.
Was it non PC to be amused that the girl expressing pride in 100 years of English Entertainment etc. had the name -

-Natasha Kablinski ?

Lovely girl !

not muesli but whole fried breakfast at some time after midnight. Weird! Contrary to what others saw on the telly, general view seemed to be that only LizaM and eltonJ can belt out songs to fill an auditorium.

It's that Covent Garden time slip thing . As a youth I used to spend the early hours selling Egyptian Earlies in Macks at the corner of Floral St, then I was in the pub at 10 am drinking pints with the porters. I only did it for a year but I loved it!
