Hi, not sure about Midlands area, there used to be a fisherman called Peter Rayment down the west country who used to rebuild them might be worth a google, he may also know someone closer to home for you if he's retired now, think they originated from that part of the country, wonderful engines that can rack up huge hrs without problems.
Good luck.

I guess you mean Gardner?

there's a Gardner for sale on FAFB at the moment, and a firm in Ireland that deals in them. Several on ebay, inc a 4lw.
Gardner are the only make acceptable by the SFIA as a new installation in a FV when second hand. I know of one, installed in 1978, had done twice round the world in a bus and still going strong, probably does 2000 hours pa.
Any competent engine rebuilder should be able to do it for you

Edit: actually more like ten times round the world, any self respecting routemaster would have had 300,000 miles on it.
