hi guys
after several disappointments with engineers in Barcelona (either not turning up, overcharging or not replying) we still have the same problems described on this thread with our port engine...

Boat has been out of action for a good month now :(

Anyone have an engineer they trust in barca?

We've tried Danny (port forum), Wes (sitges) and Motorproject

Thanks Prima - would absolutely consider this.
Will ask those the few that i know but if anyone is reading this and fancies it please get in touch!

Let me know how you get on, I'm planning to moor my boat permanently in Fuengirola/Benalmadena, and whilst I don't doubt the mechanical skills of the Spanish, the language barrier and 'manjana' attitude does worry me if something were to go wrong - I'd happily fly a UK mechanic out if they knew their stuff.

The only issue I foresee is whose tools/equipment would they use?

When we bring engineers down to SoF they mainly use our tools, and check a single (20kg) bag of their own specialist or preferred stuff. One checked bag has been enough every time so far.

I wonder if it is worth contacting Richard Davis at Power Marine Auto based at Cobbs Quay, 01202 669699. He used to keep his own boat in Barcelona-although i dont know if he still does.
Also Mike Wills based at Cobbs used to do some work overseas.
