Golden Arrow Marine - ABT Trac Stabiliser Problem

I just want to give a big thumbs up to Mark and Iain at Golden Arrow Marine for helping us to solve a problem with our stabilisers.

We are in Scotland and one of the fins recently stopped working. We are approx 500 miles from the team at Golden Arrow but they gave us great telephone support. Together with work behind the scenes, this enabled us to get a pretty accurate diagnosis of the problem. It turned out to be in a short wiring loom at one of the servos. Swapping the looms over moved the problem from one fin to the other. This support was given quickly and without charge. Great service.


Unfortunately the replacement loom (see photo) cost GBP 305 which seems somewhat usurious for a few feet of multi core and three connectors.



A pity that slightly took the gloss off superior service.

Get that one repaired at electronic firm for spare

That's the plan although I don't think they go wrong too often. Should be possible to make a new one for not very much. Just a few feet of multi core and three connectors. I don't think there is any intelligence in there.

Only if we venture out, Nigel. Referring to Sunday, the BBC Scotland weather forecast tonight came as close as they ever do to saying we haven't a @#*&()! clue.

I agree that their service is simply second to none. Always so willing to help. Yet the cost of parts is high - can't spell usurious.
