We have three Goiot deck hatches and a couple of port-lights that could do with new seals and some bits replacing. These are all late seventies vintage.
To avoid buying new and having to re-cut for different size openings etc, does anyone have any experience of having these types of items re-furbished and if so any recommendations?
Thanks is advance

We had ours hatches redone a couple of years ago using bits supplied by (I think) Kenneth Ryland.

All as good as new - I can't see any reason to replace them with an inferior replacement unit

Thanks for this will have a close look at the hatches and see if i think its something I can do or whether they need to be done by someone else. I have enough jobs to do this winter.
One of the issues with doing it yourself is all the sealants you need. If you follow the silkaflex recommendation you need primers and sealants and that can be very expensive (you only need a little, but you have to buy a lot). For me it was cheaper to pay someone to fit it (I had done most of the cleaning myself) then buy the full suit of Silkaflex products.
