Going to the dogs

Or what do we have to comply with now to go to France on our boats with our dogs . I pretty much think I know the answer. Don't bother... but there might be some clever way around the rules. I guess it's not going to be getting into French ports more about getting back passed our blockades .

Get them checked by a vet in France just before you leave, and get them to annotate the pet passport. I assume that pet is up to date on vaccinations.

No.
UK issued pet passports are no longer valid in the EU.
One of our dogs had a UK pet passport and we had to transfer her to a French one last year (before the end of the transition period).

I thought you could only bring a dog into the UK via a recognised carrier and not on a private boat, either now or previously

Yes. That has always been the case, as far as I understand it. A recognised carrier, through a recognised port. I'm sure that if the OP cares to google it, all will be revealed, including past threads on here.

The need to look up the latest rules because we are staying in the UK this year. Great food, good weather superb scenery what more can you ask for
