Looe is Accessible about two hours either side. Check with pilot and dependant on draft of course. The stream out is quite quick, but I've got power, so of no concern to me. You can of cousre anchor in the bay quite close in.
Looe is great if you can take the ground, the visitors berth is on the left by the small ferry boats. (half tide abount 1.5m) You may need to raft out but the ground is good and level.
Ask the ferry man for the key to the tolet and shower - very clean and plenty of hot water.
Dont worry about the tide flow except at full spring flow - it just takes a little longer to motor up the river.
Are the two lovely old ladies still on Looe Island? They had written a book about their life and were very welcoming when we called in - must be 10 years ago now.
Unfortunately one died a good few years ago and I think the other went a year or so ago. I seem to remember that the island has been left to the National Trust.
Sorry not much time this morning. Been in looe many times, can not dry out though. Nearly no one ever goes there as far as I've seen. I'm sure the HM will find you some where if you ask. The other alternative dependant on weather is Polpero. There are three visitors buoys in the enterance. Dont take the fourth one, on the right, your arse end may go up the rocks!! Been on visitors in looe. Never ever seen another visiting boat. Hope this helps!
