Eat, drink, chat, look at the sea, think, eat some more, drink some more, work out how to use the loo.. but generally be thankful that you are away from the worries of the world, on the water, and (hopefully) in good company.. :D

You could actually catch some fish, rather than just sitting there watching them overtaking you.

Or buy a Stanley knife, should you lose the will to live :-)

Make scalding hot tea in readiness for when a motorboat passes you and you hit it's wake. Be thankful you're not having to suffer the horrific dryness on board our boat with a nice freshly brewed cafe latte. I'd give my wife's eye teeth to be dressed up in foul weather gear now :)

Henry :)

Only got as far as the entrance to Southampton water and turned back! Scary in an underpowered boat:). Still took four hours to do 10 miles!

I nearly spat out my tea reading that...:):)

Just got buzzed by Thanks Mum:)

sorry ricky !!!!...... if I "buzzed" you I have no recollection of getting that near to any "rag n stick" stuff !!!!...... having said that, the waves alone would of made my wake look like ripples !!!.... where abouts did this HORRENDIOUS AND UNFORGIVABLE encounter take place ??

In Southampton water, you went by then turned back to wave at the Red Funnel? You are right though, the waves felt very big on the sailboat:). You weren't close really and by the time I'd noticed the boat name it was too late to get a photo.

It was nice to give sailing another go (twice now) but it really isn't for me, you get dirty tugging on ropes and the skipper shouts odd things like "helms a lee" whatever that means.

I popped down to my boat last night and just sat in it after doing some little jobs and felt very much at home:)
