Heading back there in the next few days, cannot wait

Looks fantastic! Part of me misses the lake environment for the reasons perfectly portrayed by your first, beautiful, pic. Enjoy!

So blessed and fortunate to be able to cruise this wonderfully scenic and isolated part of the world at the very edge of the Atlantic.

Great pics of a great location. I’ve done a few locks in my time but that one would scare the life out of me :disgust:
I especially liked the picture of Fastnet!

The lock is actually very gentle but it’s a little bit like being on the set of ‘the hero’s of telemark’ and you half expect Kirk Douglas and his commandos to appear any moment.

As you liked it here’s another passing short of a tamed Fastnet Rock.

Fantastic pictures and beautiful scenery. Particularly liked the moon shots :encouragement:

Fastnet and the Skelligs look intimidating and appealing at the same time.

Your teak looks nice!

Some fab shots Donie. The photo of lots wife guarding the entrance to Baltimore harbour is stunning. Did you go ashore at the great blasket?

Thanks Noel. I took the photo of Lots Wife on my iPhone. It was a fab morning and I managed to get the yacht in the background also.
Yes, we landed at the beach on Great Blasket. There were lots of seals playing around at the north end. It was fine going ashore but a bit rough getting off the beach. I bought a new 2.9m aluminium hulled tender and it was great. very light.
I also stopped for lunch in Portmagee. I entered from the south side at high tide. Really spectacular entrance. I tied to the visitors mooring on outside of the pontoon and we got a goor reception from the Skellig tour boat owners. They weren't used to seeing many visiting boats. The bridge no longer opens so we went under at two hours after HT. The sound above the bridge is polka-dotted with lobster pots for the first 100-200m but it's a lovely stretch of water after that up to Knightstown.

Which colregs apply here? :)

Some great pics of what looks to be a fantastic cruising ground. SWMBO hails from the north and seeing these is whetting my appetite for spending some boating time in Ireland.

Thanks for the photos. Weather hasn't been great this year unfortunately. You actually passed by us in Killaloe over the August bank holiday weekend and back into Kincora.

We also bought two paddle boards this season. They've been one of the best additions to the boat and good fun/exercise.
