Gocek Mooring Buoys

We have heard from two independent sources that there will now (started mid July) be a charge for using the buoys in the Gocek anchorages.

Leaflets are being handed out which gives details. The cost apparently starts at 25TL for a boat of 12m or less rising by an amount (I'm not sure how much) as size increases.

Has anyone any further info on this and am I correct in believing that there is no law that states that the buoys have to be used.

We were on a buoy in Yassica Adaliaria just outside of Gocek for a couple of nights 5 days ago so it looks like we just missed you. We didn't see anyone asking for money. There were usually at least a couple of buoys available even at the end of July. We also spent a couple of nights on the Municipal Marina Quay for our 12.5 m was 112TL for 2 nights, water and electricity for 5TL per night.

We are currently anchored off Kizil Adasi in the Fethiye bay, so if you are passing we will have a cold one for you.

Had the leaflet in Eng/Tur delivered to the platform whilst anchored in Boynuzbuku by a young lad in a Suekos dinghy a few days ago. I smiled and said thank you......
