Go Pro Camera

The GoPro won't do that. If you want to monitor the engine bay then get a proper camera to do the job. Raymarine camera and link it to your plotter, it is about the same price! GoPro is not designed for that sort of application. The link is not good enough.

Shucks - I guess I will have to find an as new Go Pro or JVC for about £10 from Ebay, and if anyone grasses me up tomorrow ... Still less than a part tank of fuel I suppose.

I would do the fixed camera install, but excellent as the Garmin GPSMap 750 is the one thing it won't do is support a video input.

For the earlier response, my engine bay is well lit with loads of LED strips, and I just want to check no disasters are happening periodically.

if you are going to scuba dive with it then make sure you get the red filter, well thats what I have to use in the Med below about 7m. I have been as deep as 45m and all has been fine.

Setting camera up for filming is important for battery life. Dont bother recording in superhd/4k you will eat more memory and battery and then you have to process it. For diving I run at 720p. which I find is very acceptable.

I bought a chest strap the other day, I think it was a waste of money but time will tell. Perhaps might be ok for Jetski. You can get a floaty back as well.

Anyhow great fun im sure you will enjoy. I paid about £380 my my Gopro 3HD black last year so looks like you are getting a food deal.

Went for the JVC Adixxion - thanks Gary.

Just snorkelling with a bit of duck diving to a few metres. The manual suggests setting it to Blue Marine or Green Marine on the white balance. What do you think ?

The supplied strap clip seems OK for attaching the camera to the mask strap, but I think I will fit a bit of string too, just in case it pops apart.

Managed to get it to link to this ipad mini, but now I need to let the battery charge up.
