Glue

Hi all

I am undertaking a re carpeting project at the moment and wondered if anyone could advise best glue to stick it to GRP. I have been advised against Impact type adhesives as they are apparently not great with carpet. I dont want to use spray glue cos I make a mess at the best of times and it will go just everywhere.

Vinyl flooring adhesive which is non toxic and pleasant to work with. Ball F3 is what we use.

Dunlop Thixofix, but make sure there is plenty of ventilation when you use it.

Thanks interesting and what I originally was thinking of - or at least Evo Stick Impact equivalent - I rang Bostik who own Evo and they were the ones who said no to the contact adhesives - they pointed me towards a product called laybond L47 - which of course I cant just go down the road and get.
Hence why I asked what others use.

If you want to be able to lift the carpet at some point in the future then F. Ball F3 (as mentioned above) is good along with Styccobond F2 - makes it a bit like a tackifier. Your choice will also depend on what the backing material is on the carpet:
