Desirous of fixing a couple of small teak cubes to the cockpit floor, to stop the parked washboards touching the floor. The teak will be under no lifting or shear strain, and positioned where it is unlikely to ever receive a good kicking.

Any recommendations for a suitable glue - preferably clear or white in colour. Needs to be thick enough to 'fill' the floor's non-slip finish, and waterproof once applied. And preferably available in a small quantity, not a damn great pot or tube full.

Thanks in advance.

TK.

From experience teak is hard to glue and stay glued.I'd use CT1 or Tek7 .If you abrade the area to be glued with very coarse sandpaper and degrease thoroughly with acetone there is a chance it'll stay put.

I've just 'glued' a teak board onto the deck of my boat but went with thickened epoxy. The advice I found suggested giving the teak surface an acetone rub first to remove oils and allow the epoxy to key to the surface better, so that's what I did. Results so far are good but it's too early to say how it will stand up longer term.

INMO Ct1 or another flexible glue are more suitable for this job.Epoxy may let go when the wood shrinks or swells with moisture.

Plan B for me might be to use one of those little old fashioned round rubber doorstops with a central fixing screw, swap the screw for a suitable self tapper and drill carefully, maybe with a little adhesive type sealant too

I'd make the base of the teak bits as wide as possible to maximise the hold on to the GRP deck by the way.
And I've been thinking that if you use Iroko instead of teak the glue will perform better and after the wood goes grey you'll be hard pressed to tell the difference.Iroko also requires a good degreasing, mind.

Could do, but I have teak offcut crying out to be used!
