I am looking for some advice on removing glue from a dimpled non slip grp deck. Unfortunately the previous owner stuck Treadmaster onto the non slip surface which when removed leaves the glue residue. It's particularly difficult to remove due to the glue sitting in the dimpled surface. Is there a good glue remover I can use or any other suggestions before I take the drastic step of sanding the surface flat and painting with Kiwigrip or similar?

Essex Fixings & Abrasives. supply a solvent thinners, which I used in my joinery works to thin the primer coat of contact adhesive & also to remove excess adhesive. Of course, the excess was new. The thinners may not work on old glue, unless left to soak for an hour or so.
Perhaps a phone call to ask for a small quantity to experiment with. Then a 5 litre can would not be too expensive. Be extremely careful of the fumes..

I have used a product called DETAK developed for removing chewing gum ( the most resistant material known to man) but certainly effective in dissolving most sealants. Not so sure about glue but perhaps worth a try?

Acetone will attack your gel coat so I would NOT use that. Petrol or the citrus based cleaners are the way to go.
A good stiff nail brush helps as well.

If you were somehow able to leave any volume of it on the gel coat surface it for a considerable time, it might, but that’s really difficult to do as it evaporates off so quickly.
