Looking for a tv aerial for boat, looking at this one basic modelV9125

How easy is it to install

Are they any Good.

Do i just plug it into a 12volt plug.

Called a few marine stores and told i need different extras to install getting confused.

Tried finding Glomex in uk, but no contact just italy.

I fitted the 9112 (larger diameter - 0.37m) model last year. Very pleased with reception (it is at the top of our mizen mast). The only thing that needs the power is the amplifier. Ours came bundled with the antenna itself, 20m of coax, all the connectors we needed along with the amplifier. Only extras I needed to get were the mast mount and an extension piece to raise the antenna above the top of the mast. A later addition were some home-made "spikes" to stop the seagulls using it as a convenient landing pad!

Ordered it through my local chandlers (Mountbatten Boathouse in Plymouth Yacht Haven marina).

Cheers,

Jerry

I have a Glomex digital ready thing on my radar arch and it is useless in the marina. Iam surrounded by blow boats and i think that is the problem. It works fine at sea so i can only assume its all the masts that block the reception. Mount it as high as you can and if you have a mast you should be fine.

Marathon leisure are the UK distributors. www.marathonleisure.co.uk. I purchased the v9112 some 12 months ago, when I came to fit it there was no reception. I took the top cover off to investigate and found the build quality extremely poor. The connection between the aerial disc and the lead connection is a hoch poch of solder which seperated. I repaired it using a small piece of wire and it appears to work fine. Geoff

I've got the DVB ready one as well and use it mostly for DVB and it works 9 times out of 10 including crowded marinas. Reasonably easy to install.
