Guy living near me has his Glastron 27 in my channel alongside my sailer ....

We are suffering winds that are literally broadside onto his and that then pushes hard onto my boat ...

Boats are facing NNW ... winds are coming in from SSW ... gusting up to 18 - 20m/s with more to come.

Now forgive me for seeming blind ... but can someone please show me how this boat is supposed to be moored when there is only ONE cleat on the bow ?

Nothing here ...

Bow cleat - yes well .... you can see the problem there ...

Now my boat - like many sailboats has various cleats positioned to seriously moor up (forgive the lack of clean-up - when we get better weather she'll look fine) ... I have mooring post, cleat either side of bow, cleat each side midships and two cleats either side cockpit ....

I've tightened up that aft line from his boat to mine to try reduce the surging his boat does alongside mine ... I also did my best to clear that bow line from the boarding ladder.

If any Glastron or similar owners out there - what did they do to solve this ?

It will most likely have aft cleats hidden by the cockpit canopy. That's rather an old Glastron, but looks in reasonable condition.

Its not so bad ... needs a bit of TLC ... but interior is OK. Hull is good ... Engine starts easy and purrs ... but

1. Gearbox has problem .. no astern .. He had engineer check it out and all worked before launch. but in water - no astern. I reckon cables need adjusting ..
2. There's a leak somewhere and he needs bilge pump on auto ... he had the sterndrive unit off and fitted just before launch - I think maybe the joint to transom.
3. That kedge anchor system is dead .. so need to find out why its not working
4. Batterys ( 3x 100A/Hr) need replacing - 2 dead, 1 so-so

But the biggest headache is the fuel bill on it ... 260HP Mercruiser Petrol. He paid about 3500 Euro for the boat in Norway .. shipped it over ... but that was while he still had a job in Norway ... CV19 has stopped that and now he's out of work ... trying to sell the boat. At least he doesn't have to worry about marina / yard fees ...

If it had a diesel engine - I might be interested ... but not petrol !
