Anyone in the Clyde up for another meet next weekend, it being the Glasgow September Weekend?
The last one was a success, I think. We hope to be out from Thursday evening to Monday evening.

Alistair

Do you mean the weekend after this coming one - ie the 24th, 25th Sept?.

Millport fireworks are on the night of the 24th but if anything like the past few years not worth the effort of getting off teh seat to look out at them.

Where have you got in mind? and what "bolt holes as plan "B" - we don't all have a floating "3 room and kitchen" that sits rock steady in almost anything.

So where? The Kyles, ELT, Brodick, Lamlask, King's Cross, Rothsay, Caladh, St Ninians, Callums Hole, etc......

Sounds O.K. my hangover should be gone by then /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif - gives me a week to recover.

So what is the plan then Alistair -you callin' it? I am easy on location(s) so lets see how many are interested in a wee get together and a wee swally.

I'm off racing until Sunday night - I'll leave it to your easy charm and natural diplomacy to keep the idea alive until then, I'm open to suggestions for locations and activities.

What's the hangover for?

I have a habit of not taking enough water with it and as I am not getting any younger it take me a little longer than it used to to shake of the hangover, that and a belief that it is bad luck to replace a cork in a bottle once the bottle has been open (or replace a screw cap if drinking the cheapo stuff).

Forecast here - not so good but not too bad.
Don't fancy doing ELT in it though.

Hi Alistair. Arrived back from Ballycastle about 0800 this morning, after our unplanned voyage round Ireland. Interesting crossing last night - glorious clear passage lit by a very bright full moon. Had to motor for a while, but had a great breeze for the second half. So, back in dear old Ardrossan again. Nothing's noticeably changes during our absence - looks like the same deceased seagull still bobbing about on our side of the basin.

Not sure what we're doing at the weekend - we've been on board for a few weeks and feel the need to focus on more normal human activities for a while. I'll have a wee think about it. Regards to all..............

Glasgow Holiday update

Greetings again Alistair. Feel like a stick-in-the-mud, but we've decided to take her out of the water this Friday afternoon. Seems only a few weeks ago since you came down to help me put her in!

Sadly, the decision was influenced, in part, by the weather forecast which doesn't look too great for the weekend. Also I have to attend to some work catching-up before going down south for a couple of days next week.

It's been a funny year. There was the Chentleman's Cruise in May, courtesy of DaveS's hospitality, where I met MacHurley22, Claysie, Jimi, Para, Long John Sadler, Muzzie and Webcraft. (Spoke to Long John on the phone last week - we were berthed 20m from his boat in Lough Swilly, but he was in Edinburgh at the time). Then the Launch, thanks again. The Clyde weekend with yourself and Cliff, the Rathlin trip with MacHurley22, and, most recently, our unplanned circumnavigation of Ireland, about which more later.

No doubt I'll regret not coming out! So here's hoping that the weather perks up and that you have a great sail and some good fun!
