Glasgow Drink

Are we going to make a finnal decision on the venue/time/date for our crimsy drinkypoos? or, are we all going to meet in different pubs and have our night together apart?:D
Lets try and get something organised so we can work out our schedules.
Thanks, C_W

I would prefer somewhere near to Glasgow Central - my last train home is at about 22:30, so if I have to factor in public transport to get from and to the station my pub time is significantly reduced.

Glasgow for a drink…..new concept eh!

Yes!...always up for a beer or three, but the last train from Glasgow Central can only be comparable to beating into a F8, with a rough sea state in a 23’ bilge-keel……doable but unpleasant. So I guess I’ll just have to be as drunk as the rest to survive.:D

PS If the decision is to have the "Scuttlebutt Christmas Bash" at Kip could we post availability of spare berths for a kip........house trained but snore. :D

I could make a few early beer that day before the office xmas bash. Work in town so anywhere central suits. We usually visit the Drum & Monkey for drinks - good beer selection, close to both stations, likely to be busy but isn't everywhere at xmas?

Can I suggest the SIr Edward Wylie again? We went there last time and everybody seemed to enjoy it. They usually have a guest beer which is cheap and last time was OK. I suspect that most places are going to be crowded, so the size of this place is possibly in its favour.

Most Glasgow pubs will be getting busy as the amateur drinkers come out for their Christmas parties. Especially on a Friday, however this is not a suggestion for another night. I am (sorry WE! are) happy with either 4th or 11th.

Final thought, has anyone been to Sloan's in the Arcade? Always seemed quiet when I have been in but there may be a reason for that.

Ohh Bill glad you sre happy with "Eddie's willie" who ever Eddie is!
:D:D:D
However why dont we just settle for Wylie's, where we went last year as it is quite accessable for most of you traveling from out of town.
Fri 11th and eta of 1900hrs utc, enter by forward hatch and grab a comfortable corner in the main cabin.

I shall try and be there. I shall be recognised by the TESCO bag I shall be carrying. Subtle eh?

I'll try and get there too. I have a friend coming up for the weekend, though, so if he has decided to arrive on Friday I won't be able to make it. I'll be easy to recognise as I shall be wearing only a posing pouch made out of - natch - a blue ensign.

I'm on, but not sure about MOH. Will there be any other WAGs there she asks.

It looks like I will be there - it was a bit doubtful for a while. As to your question about WAGs, well Mrs C will be looking after me:)

So that anybody who doesn't know me will recognise me I will be the short, middle aged, hairy, somewhat unkempt bloke, probably wearing jeans and a Musto Snug accompanied by a gorgeous young lady.

Since I haven't met anyone from here before I hope to make it along for a quick pint or two before having to dash to the office party, and I'll be the one looking around for a group that might represent a bunch of west of scotland forumites......:)
