Beginning of the week weather forecast was totally gloomy for the weekend, then Friday morning it showed a glimmer of hope for a bit of sun Sunday morning, so we decided to go for it any way as we where only going down river to Poole quay for the night, but what a fantastic day Sunday turned out to be, lovely cruse home through the harbour and tea on the mooring with daylight until nearly 5 clock as this photo was taken.
Is it my imagination or are not many people posting at the moment and surprised that Poole Quay Boat Haven is so empty especially as its half price in the winter months.

Yep, was perfect.

Launched the Jetski (shock horror!) on the Itchen and had lunch in Cowes with some forumites.

Nearly got sunburnt! perhaps more wind burnt at 51knots!

Dead flat, very little swell too.

Agree, not many boats out at all.

Yep, went down to the boat to check her out, and it was such a lovely day I ended up taking her for a spin by myself. Not many boats in the Western Solent though, didn't even need to take my shoes and socks off to count them.

What a difference a few days make. Drove down from London through the snow on Wednesday for the boat's survey and sea trial. Just raining at Cobb's Quay fortunately but did dampen spirits down a bit. Should have been back over the weekend to collect it but waiting for the broker to complete the "paperwork", still no word and it's now too late to do anything today :(

A bit different as we are based inland, but with the sun out on Sunday, the flood gates finally reopened and the ice all thawed out, the river was like the M1. People making the most of the first avaliable day out of the marina for almost 4 weeks. Nice to see the boats on the move though.

Bugger! I had fully intended to come down as it would have been my last Sunday afloat before she comes out for the off-season service and antifoul. I got up Sunday morning and it was grey and miserable at home (Kent) and on checking the Met Office forecast decided to take a rain-check. From your photo it looks like I missed a perfectly good day out.

I sometimes wonder if all the moaning and groaning on the forums about the **** weather through summer last year isn't based more on the number of times people cancelled trips out because of bad forecasts, rather than actual experience with bad weather itself.
