Hi, just looking for a bit of advice, i went to look at a westerly gk 24 today for 5500. She needs new sails but the yanmar gm10 inboard is running very well. is this a good price?is there mant out there for sale with diesel inboards?

We paid 7000 for ours a couple of years ago but the sails and boat were in much better condition than the other 4 we saw first. Do bear in mind that you have to enjoy a very interesting angle of heel in a GK24.

I've just come back from a West country cruise and still love the way they sail even if the sea seems very big after getting used to much bigger boats. One thing that has changed a lot in the 10+ years since I last sailed any distance in a GK is that all the other boats have got much bigger, and instead of easily beating 30-35 footers of the old Moody, Westerly, HR types we found this time that we were often overtaken by family crews on much larger Benetaus and Jeanneaus - except upwind, or dead downwind.
