I was recently the victim of a collision which substantially damaged my teak capping rail and other scratches and damage to guard rails bases etc.

With all the woes of insurances I cannot fault GJW what so ever, their quick response to my problem, guidance and help from them and their surveyors, culminating in a speedy settlement, to both parties our satisfaction.

Well Done GJW

I have no vested interest just a satisfied customer.

Similar experience with GJW.
Renewed again this year.

me too.......

Yes, I had my first claim this year in fifteen years of insuring with GJW. I was very pleased with their claim management; wholly recommended.

Good timing. My renewal from them has just arrived. I've not (yet!) made a claim with them, but it's good to know that they come through when needed.

Nice to see such positive comment. I have no claims record and only went with them because they were cheaper than my former insurer.

Ditto, but thanks to the OP for a very comforting post, I have been with GJW for two years now, I don't think I will be moving anywhere else, this is the second thread I have seen singing their praises.

I moved to them a couple of years ago, after, erm, a disappointment with another insurer. I haven't had to make a claim but I wanted to make a couple of changes to the cover and they were very efficient and helpful.

I have been insured with GJW direct for two years, have not had to claim so very relieved by positive feedback. Found them very easy to talk to and very sensible with their requirements. Also they were about 40% cheaper than other quotes I received.

+1. Just renewed with them for my little boat. :)

I'm not sure if I should also be glad with this news, but I think so...

I've just started a policy with Yachtmaster Insurances Services (Suffolk), but they seem to be brokers for GJW,and the policy is underwritten by the same Watkins Syndicate WTK/457. I chose Yachtmaster as they were sensible on the phone, gave me the cover I wanted, and their quote was about the cheapest I got.

We changed to GJW many years ago after an MBM cruise

One of the boats on the cruise, insured with GJW, was a total loss after hitting underwater rocks

We were so impressed with how well they handled things that we moved across from St Margarets

We have done price comparisons since and they always come out cheapest

As some of you will know I am with them and had a claim with them last dec.
Was satisfied with their handling of my claim and dont loose my NCB as it is a "Plain Language policy" and if they can recover the claim amount I wont have to pay the excess.
As a matter of interest, they appointed a surveyor to survey the damages to my boat.
Should I be entitled to see a copy of this surveyors report?
Did ask the surveyors office but was told "no" because they were appointed by the insurance company.
