Some might remember my engine troubles, I have not gotten much further, the engine is out and apparently knack (not much good ) due to water ingress, it took two days to get the bell houseing off, The engineer in the yard is at his wits end,and puffing out his cheeks every time I ask him about progress.
I am thinking all or nothing now, as in re engine££££££££ can I find a used diesel anywhere , not at all , has anyone any knowledge of one skulling around wanting to be bought, looking at replaceing a GMC V8 /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

Another alternative is to look for a truck wrecker. I have seen old trucks where the body is only just holding together, but the engine is a good as gold. 'Jimmies" [GM engines] are usually two-stroke, and so noisy that you really wouldn't want to be in the same boat as one. Because they fire on every stroke, they sounds as though they are going twice as fast as they really are. A nice Gardner, on the other hand, sounds like it's idling when it is going flat out at 1500 rpm.
Peter.
