Eldest son gets married at Medmenham this Saturday (rain, rain, go away . . . ) and the reception/p-up is in a marquee right by the river, half-way between Medmenham and Mill End. Mid afternoon onwards. If you're mad enough to be out in the predicted monsoon, give us a hoot as you go by! :):)

We came past but were too early for anyone to be there. Setting looked fantastic.:p Such a shame about the weather :( still I'm sure a good day was had by all.

Although not sunny, the weather was far better than feared. When everyone was standing around outside imbibing, generally not rainy or very fine soft rain. Happy couple arrived by Hobbs' fancy launch then parties of guests went for a jaunt to Mill End and back. Come the time to go inside and eat - and drink some more - rain fell but we were inside. When finished, go outside - no rain, nice sunset. As you say, great location; we were all very privileged. And a terrific time was had by all. What a day!
For me, from the Canal de Garonne, interesting to see how many boats seemed to be exceeding the speed limit - I thought there was a 'lock speed measure', that meant you guys got done if you turned up at the lock too soon.
Got friendly waves (the other kind!) from most boats, but some gin palaces obviously too stuck up (or miserable) to acknowledge mine. Different in France.
