Anyone want to do another girls weekend?? So far we have Karen (laurin), lynn (full circle) and Lisa (black magic), weekend of sept 9th. No definitive plan at present it will depend on numbers, weather, experience. On past weekends we have had everybody from enthusiastic beginers, (and not so enthusiastic beginers) to old hands and have had a great weekend, (even winning Royal Corinthian Pub Quz!).

So who's up for it?????

Karen, Lynn & Lisa

remind me of the date we earmarked?

Have we agreed that we will muster on the Crouch?

I will be bringing some extra wimmin.:)

9th Sept. Muster Crouch, Lynn was thinking stay Friday night in Bridgemarsh but thinking about it that might not work for me as I'll probably need to feed Esmé friday night and Laurin will be in BYH and unable to get into Bridgemarsh Friday evening as it will be low water springs. So maybe join Bridgemarsh then pootle up to BYH for the evening?

By the way. Just trying to talk Pat into another weekend where we venture out of the crouch... you'd be welcome to come along!

weather is looking decidedly **** for the weekend and to add to that the 2 collegues from work who wanted to come who have never been sailing before, one of whom also gets sea sick, have informed me they have booked to go to a concert in london on sat night, so will need to leave at 4.30pm!! they obviously have no idea re tides ect and the intracacies of getting in and out of marinas. I'm going to tell them its off as i do not think it will be a good beginers weekend and i do not want to put them off. I'm sure the remainder of us will be OK and if the weather is too **** we can still enjoy ourselves!

Just wanted to say a big thanks to the girls for a lovely weekend. The dynamics have changed completely and this weekend seemed to be more about others helping me to get used to the new boat rather than me "teaching".

It seems after 4 seasons of either being pregnant or mum to a small child I've become more cautious and a little out of practice, where as Lynne despite her tippy issues has gained masses and masses of experience and certainly knows a lot more than she gives herself credit for.

Lisa is an inspiration.... bags of confidence and enthusiasm and exactly what I needed this weekend. So looking forward to sailing together again.

Joy had her first sail without Ian and bravely came along despite an "adventure" of a trip earlier in the week, and it was lovely to see one of my friends from work on Saturday. She used to do lots of motorboating but not for a little while... think we might have converted her to sail... so some new female crew available!

Not too much sailing done this weekend due to bad forecast and having Esmé on board, (many thanks to you all for your wonderful babysitting). However we did manage a lovely sail down to Fambridge for lunch, a little man overboard practice, and a lovely sail back. Boat put away safely and plenty of knot practice.

Also lots of chatting about how different couples make decisions about what weather to go out in and when to reef, as well as fixing stuff and buying new bits.

All in all a lovely weekend, can't wait for next time.... would be great to get 2 boats out, and also maybe do it more than once next year. Provisionally pencilled in sometime in June for the first one!

Anyway, thanks again!

thanks Karen!

I had a great time too and hope that we can recruit lots of other East Coast Wimmin for our next one. I'm definitely up for June.

I do a fair bit of sailing with just female crew, but mostly with women who are even less experienced than me, so it was great to sail with people who contribute equally and the dynamic is SO different to sailing with blokes who want to race every thing they see... :)

Lookout, men!

Just what we men feared you'd be getting up to on the Girls' Weekend! ;-)

Glad you had a good time.
