as you appear to be making a collection @ 19.00 at Ipswich.......what is planned for Friday evening?
Eat in the pub?
I may need to delay my departure from home otherwise i may have had one bottle before anyone else gets there..... /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif
I could bring one of my fish pies......but then Jim wouldnt eat it reheated as it would taste of nothing /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
May now be a bit earlier than 19h00, as SWMBO is travelling together with EastCoastBernie....
Perhaps 17h30 or somewhere inbetween.... let me know if this is a problem timing wise....
I can always go down to the boat if i'm earlier, and then dive back out to Ipswich... its only 10mins.
Doug,
As Jim says, Bristol arms Fri night.....
Open to discussion for Sat night..... we are hoping to head for the Ore/Alde.... so can either eat at a pub again, or create an onboard feast.... don't have a particular issue/preference either way... but will need to get some grub in for Sat if thats the plan.... which I am happy to do....
Perhaps a large beef and ale casserole given that it looks like it might be a bit chilly?
My local butcher does the most fantastic beef burgers and pork & apple burgers. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif
and i think you know the class of sausages he produces /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif
also the green back bacon is pretty good too.
should i attend the premises and purchase said breakfast and lunch items?
Lets aim to eat on board Sat night.... its not looking good enough weather for a BBQ, so i'll call you this evening to make sure we bring the appropriate goodies between us...
OK, unless told otherwise, I am going to turn up at approx 1700 at Rice and Coles in Burnham, with sailing gear, sleeping bag (pillow?) some dosh, an appetite and a thirst!
Quite happy to be given a shopping list, or to arrive earlier /later if needed- just let me know
Doug,
are you still coming, or will the momentous events in West London need your urgent attention? /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
Shall we be in mourning, or celebrating in style? The alcohol content is the same....
Lynn and Ann will be in Burnham from about 1pm on fri afternoon I believe phillipa, Bernie and debs will be there at aprox 5pm, Karen is still away and we look forward to hearing her eta on fri. I suggest we either get a takeaway or eat at Peppers. Mary and suzy may join us sometime on sat or sun. i would suggest we all stay on full circle fri night and plan to set sail at aprox 10 am sat, breakfast at 9am ish. We thought we might spend sat night at North Fanbridge but the Narrow Seas club are meeting there for an overnight sat so the pontoon might be a bit busy so we'd have to get there earlyish, Whilst the Ferry boat Inn is nice for a drink I personally think the food is crap and it might be better to return to Burnham on sat evening and eat there especially as Mary and suzy might come then, or else we'll need both boats both days. I'll PM suzy and Mary with my phone no so they have a contact no. I think everyone else has my no or is traveling with some one who has it. Full circle is currently on the pontoon at rice and coles and you'll all be glad to hear she no longer has a hole in the bottom!! Just bring sailing gear, sleeping bag and pillow and drinks, Ann Karen and I will sort out breakfasts and lunches ect so we don't end up with hundreds of eggs or sausages, if any one has special dietry requirements let us know or bring your own favourite foods. look forward to seeing everyone. Lynn
Dont know when you last eat in the Ferry Boat but have been in a few times in the last cpl of months food has been of decent quality may be worth a re visit, also there is a hog roast going on in the marina will be over there today and happy to ask if there is any spare grub going.
Jim/Pat/Neil/Doug arriving around 17h00 (Jim and Pat may be earlier), Michael being collected around 17h00, Chris I don't know (coming with Jim and Pat?)
Bristol Arms Friday evening, and then up to the Ore Sat.... eating at Anchor Sat.... a rather tasty sounding Sausage casserole - with fabulous sausages from Doug's local butcher and Apples harvested from the inlaws garden, plus a range of interesting fresh vegetables from our local greengrocer - yum yum!
Doug is also providing local butcher sausages and bacon for brekky.... and i'll bring the remainder...
Everything else needed is onboard bar Sleeping bags... I have lifejackets (well nearly enough - Doug is making up the difference)..
Bring drinks!
High Water Sat is reasonably early for the Ore, so while it won't be the crack of dawn, it'll be sensibly early leaving Shotley.... suggest we go straight there.... Sunday, again we'll need to be out reasonably early, so plan is to get out of the river, and then with forecast winds being on the nose and at 20kts, suggest we go back to Harwich via Rough Towers.... if Jim brings his crusing chute, we could have a lot of fun!
Planning on being back at Harwich at a sensible time on Sunday to allow everyone to get off at a reasonable hour...
As an alternative I can offer the use of the WWYC BBQ along with plates and eating tools etc, happy to light it for your arrival if you let me know the time.
