Where i am moored at present (Yalding) in nice and quiet but there is a planned lock closure (Teston) for six months just drown stream from me, this obviously severely limits my route options down to one way only!
Ive spent ages on the computer and for some reason keep coming back to gill marina, is there amy problems with this marina?
I dont really want tidal but do want to explore more, if i dont thats my choice, rather than being forced not to by the lock closure.

I believe they were full a while ago also the will be more expensive than where you are.

Have you tried any of the smaller concerns such as Elmhaven, Medway Bridge or Cuxton?

I have just left there after 3 years. I needed a finger pontoon due to my increasingly bad mobility. 3 came up ,but were given to others. Despite being promised to me. They have shut the bar and you now have to go to the leisure centre and have to be swiped in and out, which makes taking guests difficult.
The "workers" are great people. The management leave a lot to be desired. The chandlery is useless unless you want rope or paint. Don't get me (or others) started about the workshop....
Try Port Medway - they are very friendly people and a lot cheaper - they have some space at present. Access is available most tide levels.

Thanks for the replies i shall pop down to port medway this weekend and have a chat.
So thats two for port medway and two pms for allington lock marina:D

As you are well aware, the Medway is well served with boat moorings both large and small.
By far the cheapest will be anything that dries out at low water. Most moorings will have a mix of stuff from floating all the time, half tide and tidal. My mooring is tidal, but you normally can work things out to be able to use the boat 99% of the time.
If you intend using your boat frequently then avoid Hoo as you will only be able to get boat afloat for a few hours near high water.
Depending on your finances Victory Moorings in the Dockyard which remains afloat all the time might be worth thinking about. There are a couple of boatyards immediately above Rochester Bridge, which might be worth a look.
Also worth considering, there are a couple of small clubs which have their own moorings around Gillingham.
PS.My own club RCC,has 5 year waiting list for boats,we are ninth from the bottom.:)

That will be Michaela. Worth coming to look. I am moving from there to Victory on Sunday only because I really wanted to be on Victory - what with there being a brewery on site :D

Come ands say hello if you come on Sat pm or Sun am. Lady Fiona.

Well we went we saw Port Medway and i was quite impressed, im sure i went down there several years ago for something (cant remember what though) and thought to myself its a dump!
Seemed smart and tidy, plenty of boats, quite a few people about.
Spoke to Judy the weekend lady again another nice person.
So we should be there next Sat/Sun tide depending at Allington, quite looking forward to it;)

So thanks for all the advice much appreciated.
