not very many good comments being published about the site gjgm, especially as you have to register before you can view. Looks like another sh1ster website. Any reason for plugging them ?

Colleagues here seem happy with it, and sent me the marine link, and I thought there were some pretty cheap deals if you are looking for any of that gear.
If you think it is Sh1ster, I guess it isnt of interest to you.
No, I dont have any links, nor with Raymarine,Garmin,Musto,Windy,Comar.Volvo or any other boaty type stuff I might comment on, just to tidy up that uncertainty.

I don't think there is anything particularly dodgy with the site. There are loads of new "members only" sales sites now - they're the new "Groupon". They do it for two reasons.
1) They have your email address etc so they can market more of their offers at you (no different from any other e-commerce site you use
2) But more importantly, Google doesn't index the deals so they are available in general searches.
Number 2 is important because when the company approaches potential suppliers, they can say the deal is members only so it doesn't cause problems with other general online retailers when they sell so cheaply. Achica is one of the big companies that do this. There are loads of others.
