Gibb 7STA self tailing winch broken....advice?

Morning all. We have a Gibb 7 STA winch for the reefing and the tailing arm has broken. The rest works fine.Does anyone know where we can get new parts or this repaired ? If not does anyone know a direct replacement of? Many thanks to you very knowledgeable lot, there is always someone out there who knows the answer! Nik
 
Hi, I have all Gibb winches on Anemone and posted a piece on servicing them a while ago. pictures here
As far as I know, spares are no longer available. I think they were taken over by another company which was mentioned on this forum fairly recently you could use the search facility under 'Gibb' to find it. You may find something at boat jumbles but it's a long shot. I think Lewmar do a replacement but expensive. Also I would try ebay.

can you post a photo of the part? I have, somewhere a gibb winch that I was given. it is the one that has a red plastic arm that in on an upright and it can be swung in and out, this any good?

I have no idea where it is, but you can have it, if I can find it. I didnt really want them, pair, but it is rude to decline a gift I always think.

Dan as promised a photo! I've never seen the winch complete but there is a broken part on the side. Might you have the missing link? Ta Nik
